What Makes This Yatra Special
The Char Dham Yatra is not merely a tour — it is a transformative spiritual journey through the highest and holiest mountains on earth.
Kedarnath is one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva — an 800-year-old stone temple that survived the 2013 floods, standing as an eternal symbol of divine grace.
The most visited of all four Dhams — Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated on the banks of the Alaknanda river between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges.
Where the Ganga descended to earth — the Gangotri temple stands at the origin of India’s most sacred river, surrounded by glaciers, pine forests, and snow-capped Himalayan peaks.
The first Dham of the yatra — Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The natural hot springs (Surya Kund) here are used to cook rice as prasad for the deity.
Each Dham requires a trek through breathtaking Himalayan scenery — snow peaks, alpine meadows, glacial rivers, and forests of rhododendron and pine at every turn.
The aartis at all four Dhams — especially the Kedarnath Rudrabhishek and Badrinath evening aarti — are deeply moving experiences that devotees carry in their hearts forever.

We offer flexible Char Dham itineraries — the standard 11-day complete yatra, a 6-day Do Dham (Kedarnath + Badrinath), or the 14-day grand circuit with Haridwar and Rishikesh.

- 6 km trek (or palkhi / horse) to Yamunotri Temple at 3,291 m altitude
- Darshan at Yamunotri Temple — prayers to Goddess Yamuna
- Surya Kund — cook rice in the natural hot spring as prasad
- Divya Shila — worship of the sacred rock pillar
- Trek back to Janki Chatti — drive to Barkot for overnight
- Morning drive to Uttarkashi — visit Vishwanath Temple if time permits
- Continue to Gangotri through Harsil — beautiful cedar forests and glacial views
- Arrive Gangotri at 3,048 m altitude — check-in to hotel / ashram
- Evening darshan at Gangotri Temple — prayers and Ganga aarti beside the river
- Early morning darshan at Gangotri Temple — Rudrabhishek and prayers
- Bhagirathi River — the main tributary of the Ganga at its most pristine
- Drive to Guptkashi via Uttarkashi — base camp for Kedarnath
- En route: Tehri Dam view (optional) — the highest rockfill dam in Asia
- Arrive Guptkashi — check-in, dinner and rest (prepare for Kedarnath trek)
- Drive to Gaurikund (30 km) — the base of the Kedarnath trek
- 16 km trek to Kedarnath at 3,583 m (helicopter option available)
- Darshan at Kedarnath Temple — one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva
- Rudrabhishek at the Jyotirlinga (pre-booking required)
- Overnight stay at Kedarnath — evening aarti at the ancient stone temple
- Early morning prayers at Kedarnath — watch the temple open at dawn
- Trek back down to Gaurikund (16 km or helicopter)
- Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath — a scenic mountain drive
- En route: Chopta (mini Switzerland of India), Gopeshwar views
- Arrive Badrinath — check-in to hotel, evening darshan at the temple
- Mahabhishek at Badrinath — early morning sacred bathing ceremony

Beyond the four main Dhams, the Char Dham route passes through dozens of sacred rivers, temples, ashrams, and natural wonders.
The holiest ghat of Haridwar — the starting and ending point of most yatras. The evening Ganga Aarti here is considered the most sacred in all of North India.
Natural geothermal hot springs at Yamunotri — pilgrims cook rice here as sacred prasad for Goddess Yamuna. The water temperature can reach 88°C.
The origin of the Ganga — standing at the confluence of the Bhagirathi river at 3,048 m, the Gangotri temple is surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers.
The snout of the Gangotri glacier — the actual source of the Bhagirathi river — 18 km trek from Gangotri for dedicated pilgrims and trekkers.
One of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas — the 8th century stone temple at 3,583 m is an architectural wonder that has withstood centuries of Himalayan weather.
Near Kedarnath, Vasuki Tal is a glacial lake at 4,135 m with stunning Chaukhamba peak views. Chopta is a pristine meadow called the “mini Switzerland” of Uttarakhand.
Natural hot springs at the base of Badrinath temple — pilgrims take a sacred bath here before entering the temple as a purification ritual dating back thousands of years.
The last inhabited village before the Tibet border — home to Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and the legendary last point where the Saraswati River is visible above ground.
UNESCO World Heritage Site near Badrinath — a stunning high-altitude meadow bursting with hundreds of species of Himalayan wildflowers during July–September.
Five sacred confluences of Himalayan rivers along the route — Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandprayag, and Vishnuprayag — each with its own ancient temple.

For those unable to trek — helicopter services operate from Phata, Sirsi, and Guptkashi to Kedarnath (subject to weather). We arrange bookings for premium packages.
